Your interviews are known for their depth and emotional resonance. How do you prepare yourself emotionally before engaging in conversations that often touch on sensitive subjects?
I am actually already prepared and been prepared. My mother started with me at a very young age about deep conversations that are difficult or even enlightening to others. God has put me on this assignment to reach his children in a different way. I am passionate about Life Her podcast.
Can you share a specific moment or interview on Life Her Podcast that completely transformed your perspective on life or business, and how did it shape your next steps?
Interviewing Katrina “Trina” Taylor was an experience unlike any other; the connection we shared was truly unmatched. Both of us lost our mothers in the same year, which created an instant bond and a sense of understanding that made me feel less alone. We shared the deep pain of losing someone who was not just a mother but an integral part of everything in our lives — a source of love, strength, and guidance. Having someone who truly understood that connection was incredibly comforting and inspiring. It reminded me of the importance of honoring my mother’s legacy by continuing to push forward. Watching Trina find the strength to keep moving forward despite her loss motivated me to do the same. It was a powerful reminder that, even in the face of immense loss, we can find purpose and resilience. Now she has an amazing book out about her life.
That conversation changed how I approached both life and business. It deepened my resolve to create spaces where others can share their stories, find connection, and feel seen. It shaped my next steps by reaffirming my mission to use my platform to bring healing and encouragement to others navigating life’s challenges. Trina’s story taught me that grief doesn’t have to hold us back; instead, it can fuel our purpose.Experiencing profound loss often reshapes our definition of success.
How has your concept of achievement evolved since the passing of your husband, and what does fulfillment look like to you now?
Since the passing of my husband, my concept of achievement has completely shifted. I now see life through a much clearer, more finite lens understanding how short it truly is and how uncertain our time here can be. Because of this, I’ve learned to stay in my own lane, focus on what truly matters, and live each day as though it might be my last.
Fulfillment for me now is less about material success or external validation and more about inner peace and authenticity. I’ve created boundaries to protect my mental and emotional well-being, and I’ve made the difficult yet necessary decision to remove people from my life who trigger negativity or drain my energy. This shift has allowed me to focus on the relationships and connections that truly matter the handful of people who genuinely love and support me.
Witnessing how people treat you when you’re alive versus after you’re gone has been a sobering experience. It’s made me realize that, at the end of the day, all you truly have is yourself, your faith, and the few people who consistently show up for you. Fulfillment now means cultivating love and gratitude for those who stand by me, honoring my own healing journey, and living a life that aligns with my values and purpose.
This perspective has given me the strength to prioritize my peace, embrace my individuality, and pour my energy into creating a legacy of love, resilience, and authenticity.
What would you like our readers to know about your 2025 plans?
In 2025, I’m excited to embark on several new ventures and expand my current projects. I’m currently writing a book and plan to release not just one but two books next year. These will delve into topics that I hope will inspire, educate, and empower readers in both their personal and professional lives. I also plan to dive deeper into real estate, exploring opportunities to grow in this field and create generational wealth. Beyond that, I’m looking to invest in other business ventures that align with my passion for uplifting others and creating meaningful impact.
One of my biggest goals is to see Life Her Podcast reach even greater heights. I envision it becoming a go-to platform where people can find the tools to better themselves, navigate transitions in their business and personal lives, and feel supported on their journeys. I want the podcast to be a space that fosters transformation, healing, and growth for anyone who listens. Overall, my 2025 plans are all about stepping into new opportunities, expanding my reach, and staying true to my mission of helping others while continuing to evolve in my own journey. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead and can’t wait to share it with everyone!
In a world where social media often breeds superficial connections, how do you cultivate genuine trust with your audience, and what advice would you give to others looking to build authentic online communities?
I prioritize cultivating genuine trust with my audience by staying true to who I am. Authenticity is at the core of everything I do I can’t and won’t try to be anyone other than myself. I firmly believe in treating people with kindness, respect, and the way I want to be treated because that energy always comes back. I refuse to block my blessings by being anything less than genuine. I also make it a point to share my real journey. As someone with 16 years of experience as a business owner, I’m transparent about both the highs and the challenges. I don’t shy away from discussing the struggles, lessons, and growth that have shaped me into the person I am today. This openness allows me to connect with my audience on a deeper level because they can see that I’m not perfect, just real.
For anyone looking to build an authentic online community, my advice is simple. Be transparent share your story the good and the bad. People are drawn to honesty and relatability. Stay consistent, show up as yourself every day and stay true to your values, even when it’s not the popular thing to do. Engage with empathy listen to your audience, respond to their concerns, and create a space where they feel seen and valued. Add value, always aim to provide content that inspires, educates, or uplifts your community.
How would you define resilience, and what practices have helped you cultivate it through the highs and lows of your journey?
To me, resilience is the ability to keep moving forward despite life’s challenges, setbacks, and heartaches. It’s about finding strength in adversity, learning from every experience, and trusting that even in the darkest moments, there’s a purpose waiting to be revealed. Resilience isn’t about never falling it’s about how you rise each time you do.
Over the years, I’ve cultivated resilience by leaning on a few key practices. My faith has been my anchor. Turning to prayer during difficult times reminds me that I’m not alone and that there’s a greater plan for my life. It helps me find peace and clarity when I need it most. Journaling and reflecting on my journey have helped me process my emotions and recognize my progress, even when it feels small, I even created one that I sell on Amazon. Surrounding myself with genuine, supportive people has been crucial. A strong circle of family, friends, or mentors can remind you of your worth and encourage you when you feel like giving up. Protecting my peace by creating boundaries has allowed me to focus on what truly matters and avoid unnecessary negativity or distractions. I’ve learned to channel pain and challenges into purpose. Whether it’s helping others, building my businesses, or creating meaningful content, having something to work toward keeps me grounded and inspired.
If you could ask yourself a question that no one has ever asked you before, what would it be, and how would you answer it?
If I could ask myself a question that no one has ever asked me before, it would be: “What is one thing you’ve forgiven yourself for that has changed your life?”
My answer would be: I’ve forgiven myself for the times I doubted my own strength and worth. There were moments when I let fear, insecurity, or other people’s opinions hold me back from stepping fully into my purpose. I’ve learned that we all have those moments of self-doubt, but they don’t define us. Forgiving myself allowed me to embrace my journey, flaws and all, and move forward with more confidence and clarity. This forgiveness has been transformative because it gave me permission to show up authentically, take risks, and trust that I am enough just as I am. It’s a reminder that resilience isn’t about being perfect it’s about loving yourself through every chapter of your story and not seeking for anyone else approval. We have to think for ourselves and walk on our own two feet. Just always say “Self I love you so much.”
